Your Design Packet Will Include...

Recommendation Report & Floor Plan - This is a personalized, detailed report that will spell out the changes we recommend you make in your room. We also develop a furniture floor plan based on the measurements you provide of existing furniture that you want to keep in your new plan, your room dimensions and the new pieces we recommend.  We take into consideration traffic flow of adjoining rooms and placement of floor vents and cold air returns.  These are important elements that are often overlooked when determining furniture placement.

Implementation Guide - This value packed 6 page guide will detail all the information you need to implement your plan.  We will walk you through the process step by step.  From what to do first, to how to stay organized through the completion of your project.  An abundance of information will be at your finger tips whenever you’re ready to start working on your plan.  Use this guide for other decorating projects, too.

Furniture - We will make suggestions and recommendations about the style, color, size, fabric and other details regarding the furniture you should use in your space.  If your assessment contains information about pieces you wish to keep in your new design plan, we will take those into consideration. We encourage you to give us as much information as possible about what existing furnishings and accessories you want us to include.  Likewise, if you’re starting with a clean slate – let us know in the additional comments section of your Design Assessment.

Accessories - Since many accessories are often personal objects that have special meaning, we are careful not to suggest an over-abundance of accessories just to fill the space.  We will include lamp, rug and artwork recommendations, in addition to new and stylish tabletop and wall decor accessory choices.  Remember to include information about your photography collection or pottery display if you want these included in your new design!

Color Palette – We will provide a color palette of 4 colors that will work in your space.  These will be from well known companies like Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore and others.  Many of these companies have websites where you can see the paint in a virtual room.

Presentation Board - Just like you see on televised design programs (and just like we create for our private clients), your presentation board will have fabric swatches, photographs, color chips and other elements appropriate to your specific plan.  This is a visual record of your plan that you can take with you when you shop.

Project Notebook - We will include your information in an organized notebook with plenty of room for your own additions.  Our Project Tracker forms will prove invaluable for staying organized.  You can even use these for other projects throughout your home.

Exclusive Discounts - If you choose to order through our vendors for fabrics, workroom services or accessories, you will receive special pricing on many items. We will also have promotions throughout the year available only to Custom Decorator Online clients.

Purchase Pointers - We include many helpful suggestions and FAQ’s in your packet that will cover a variety of subjects that go beyond the personalized specifics of your plan – like how to buy the right size lamp shade or what construction details to look for when buying quality furniture.  It’s all well and good to include a list of recommended furnishings to purchase, but the important factors such as HOW to select the right items is just as critical, if not more so. 

What's Not Included and Why?

Budget - Because the pricing for items will vary greatly depending on where you live, where you shop and the level of quality you desire, we do not suggest a specific budget number for each item we recommend.

To complete the room design with the recommended style choices we provide, your budget and quality concerns will be the ultimate deciding factor in which retailers or vendors you choose to purchase your products from.  We include the manufacturer of the recommended pieces in our design plan if you want to locate a retailer who carries these lines.  However, you are not bound to these manufacturers – just use the style and fabric options we provide as a guide to finding the right piece to fit your budget and quality requirements.
