After you place your room order (we offer discounts for multiple rooms), you will be directed to an online form to complete.  This is the Design Assessment where you provide us with very specific information that we use to develop your personalized design plan.  There is ample room to add additional comments.  This assessment is very detailed, so choose a time to complete it when you have enough time to give thorough answers. Our assessment is the backbone of the Custom Decorator Online personalized design that we create for you.  The more information you provide, the better we can develop a plan that is right for you. 

Completing the assessment, measuring the room and/or furniture and taking photographs may take some people 30-45 minutes while for others it may take considerably longer.  There is no need to hurry through this process.  Take as much time as you need to be thorough and accurate.

You can return to this site if you need to complete it at a later time.  You will also be instructed how to take proper measurements and photographs.  If we need additional information from you to ensure you receive the best design plan, we may contact you via email for clarification after we receive all your material.  This is an important part of our service. 

When we meet our clients in person, we spend time listening to their project plans, learning about their lifestyle, discussing budget parameters and a host of other topics that help us determine the best design direction.  We measure the applicable areas and take photos for reference, just like we’ll ask you to do.  With Custom Decorator Online, even though we’re not making a personal visit to your home, we’re still gathering the same information, but you’re helping – and that’s how you save hundreds of dollars!

If you’re unfamiliar with uploading or emailing digital photographs, you are free to mail us your photographic prints with your other information.  You’ll receive more about this option after you place your order and are redirected to the instruction page.  Of course, we can’t begin your project until we receive everything, so allow additional time to receive your Design Packet from us if you are using the postal service to send your information.

We know your home’s appearance is important to you or you wouldn’t be taking the time to engage our services.  Because of this, we take your order very seriously and strive to provide the recommendations that are just right for you.  We do not create ‘cookie-cutter’ templates that only require minor adjustments and then call them ‘personalized’. 

You can email us anytime after placing your order and we’ll reply within 24 hours.  You can also mail your items to us to help us better understand your project, but remember to include your name and email address on all correspondence.

Planning a Kitchen or Bath Design Project?

If you are interested in kitchen or bath design projects, please contact us by email with your project details. Because there are so many construction considerations with kitchens and bathrooms, we prefer to handle these requests with one-on-one service to assess whether we can help you remotely.  Send an email with KITCHEN or BATH in the subject line and include as much information as you can in your communication. Any kitchen or bath designs we produce are for concept purposes only as your contractor or builder will need to modify the plan to meet local building codes. Rates for these services vary and are based on your individual project.
